Postpartum Doula Trainings

Do you love working with new mothers & babies? Join us for a two-day Postpartum Doula Training designed to give you the best start to your new career! Postpartum doulas help families by educating, supporting, and empowering new mothers and their partners as they find confidence in their changing roles.

What is A Postpartum Doula?

Postpartum doulas perform NON-MEDICAL educational, informational and physical support to postpartum families. Studies show that new mothers who have postpartum support experience better bonding with their baby, improved breastfeeding outcomes, and less postpartum depression. Postpartum Plan with The Iowa Baby Lady

This fall I had the pleasure of attending a CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training weekend in Omaha. Katie Nyberg happened to be one of the trainers that instructed one of the educational blocks during out two day training. Training with Katie felt more like we were sitting around her kitchen table, having a cup of coffee and “sharing” in the excitement of a good book we had all just read. She was able to teach to the educational notes of the topic, while wrapping all of it in an evidence based, hands on approach. The diverse attendees of the class all felt comfortable and confident in the information she had presented, and in our ability to put it to work in our field when we left the class. Katie engaged and encouraged great Q&A, and we all felt fulfilled In our new knowledge of the topic she covered. I hope to take more training with Katie in the future so that I can better serve my clients!
